ABOUT

Hi, I'm Katy! I’m a licensed educational psychologist who works with individuals and in schools to help students discover the tools and strategies they need in order to thrive.

I’m a former teacher who found myself drawn to helping students with unique learning needs. I left the classroom to become an educational therapist, which is like a teacher or tutor who is trained to provide personalized academic and behavior support for students who need extra help with school.

This work was so interesting and fulfilling to me that I decided to go back to college to study school psychology. It was the right choice! I learned to collect academic and behavioral data, recognize and describe learning disabilities, and problem-solve with students and adults to find solutions for kids at school.

With over ten years of experience, I'm an expert when it comes to helping students build their reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills. I also provide counseling support and coaching for development of self-advocacy and communication skills for students of all ages. I use a student-centered, neurodiversity-affirming approach to help students take ownership of their school performance by knowing and trusting themselves better.

I absolutely love helping others to become confident, lifelong learners, and I look forward to working with you!
